In 1958 Rino, a professional fisherman and his wife Graziella decided to turn an old trattoria, called by local people "Mella" into a new activity for the first time on Lake Como. The aim was to connect the professional fishing to the traditional Italian cuisine. Passion, professionalism and hospitality have been the keys of their work during the years. The family tradition goes on nowadays with the son Alessandro, professional fisherman since 1980. His job consists in the fishing during the night and the fish fillet during the early morning. The last step is the cooking and then the recipes are offered to the guests by Rosy, the fisherman's wife.
Once obtained the acknowledgement from Lombardia in 2010, Rosy and Alessandro started a new working experience: the ittiturismo.
Ittiturismo includes all the fishing services offered by the fisherman on the mainland. A unique reality that connects professional fishing to the restaurant and to the possibility to stay in the apartment for rent for a holiday on Lake Como. The Ittiturismo Mella offers a chance to discover lake fish and his features and it is Km 0 because the fish goes straight away from the nets to the pan. In this way the fishing experience is even more exciting, giving the possibility to spend some days on the lake.
