Bellagio (clic to see the small town), also called “The Pearl of the Como Lake”, is the most famous and charming resort on the lake.
Bellagio occupies the most favourable spot : the extreme point of the promontory which divides the two southern branches of the lake. You can see the beautiful villas and gardens.
This delightful small town is an oasis of beauty, which can be easily reached in a short drive from Milan, Varese, Bergamo or the Swiss border through the panoramic road from Como or Lecco (main road 583) or from Erba driving along Vallassina main road.

The “Mella” restaurant is situated in the fishermen's borough of San Giovanni, a small hamlet approx 1km far from Bellagio centre, reachable on foot for a romantic walk along the lakeside, passing through Loppia and the gardens of Villa Melzi ( see the photo below) and also by boat (www.navigazionelaghi.it).
San Giovanni is a peaceful small village with picturesque cobbled streets, a characteristic port where the fishermen's boats moor and where is the landing stage of the Navigazione Lago di Como.
You can also find an important flower nursery, the church of St. John the Baptist, dating back to the 17th Century, facing the lake, the Museum of Nautical Instruments, the Bellagio rowing school and public beaches.
From the main square you have wonderful views on the opposite side of the lake (Tremezzo) and of beautiful villas like “Villa Carlotta”.
This small village is a quiet and relaxing place, the ideal for those who like peace and tranquillity.
A free public parking is just 50 meters far from the restaurant.
